ABOUT

I dove into nature-work in high school during a summer of trail maintenance in Alaska. My first full time job was building community Gardens throughout NYC. I came across Arboriculture while working in Prospect Park around 2001 and was immediately smitten. I read everything I could get my hands on and constantly peppered staff Arborists with questions. I became a Certified Arborist in 2003 and then went to work at Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

I spent several years learning about and practicing various forms of agriculture and conducted primary research on the nutritional value of roof-grown produce.

I've helped a range of researchers with experimental design and implementation on projects that involved working at canopy level. This includes two years working in French Guiana and the Ivory Coast with Botanists, Entomologists, Primatologists, Bat researchers and Forest Eco-physiologists. French proficiency.
